This section talks about the asynchronous serial communication SCI interface. The remainder of this section is organized as follows. We first discuss the RS-232 serial communication protocol. The MicroStamp11's implementation of this protocol is then discussed and finally we show how to use the MicroStamp11's SCI interface to write a 2 line by 16 character liquid crystal display (LCD) module.
